One Room Challenge Week 2 – Fall 2019

Office Makeover

First purchases arrive

Welcome to week 2 of the One Room Challenge! I’m currently somewhere in the mountains in Colorado but I wanted to drop in and give you guys a quick update on what’s going on with the office progress. Remember the mid century chandelier on my mood board? Well, hubby wasn’t the biggest fan so I had to begin my hunt all over. We finally settled on a lighting fixture, and y’all, it is CHEAP. When I say cheap, I mean it is the most pocket friendly chandelier I have ever seen and it still looks like a million bucks – I almost think this item should be a secret in the design world. But I’m nice and I don’t hide things 😀

Here it is, the gorgeous matte black chandelier we purchased for the office:

It retails for only $103.99 and I actually got an open box item for $77!! I live for deals like this.

Next up, I ordered the rug when it went on sale, the same one on the mood board. It’s called the Nelsonville Area Rug from Boutique Rugs and I believe I got the 6’7×9’7 for $103.

Another update is that we picked up supplies from Lowe’s to DIY the long desk shown in the mood board and the art ledge that goes above it is also a DIY. I’ll post those tutorials separately next week with all the details. Here’s a refresher of what the desk and art ledge will look like:

Alright, so that’s it for week 2, guys! Things are moving, orders are coming in, lumber sitting in my dining room waiting to be worked on! Can’t wait to get started on the DIY projects and get this makeover started.

Don’t forget to check out all the other guest participants of the One Room Challenge to see what everyone else is up to! See you in a week.
