One Room Challenge Week 1 – Fall 2019

Office makeover

MOOD BOARD AND LAYOUT

Hello Friends, I am thrilled to be joining the One Room Challenge this Fall 2019 and I cannot wait to see what all other guest participants are doing with their makeovers! I’ve always watched the one room challenge from the sidelines but this year I thought I might throw myself head first into it and see if I can pull off this room makeover in six weeks!

In a nutshell, the ORC is when bloggers and designers transform a space in five weeks and document their trials, tribulations and progress in six blog posts.  It’s a great way to share your journey and cheer peers along as everyone works towards their goals.

I will be tackling our office which is a space our entire family of three uses! My husband, Hassaan, and I share a desk and Zaki loves to play in there when we’re working so we always have a bunch of toys in the office too. Here’s the layout I had in mind for the makeover:

The other side of the room

I know this is more than a mood board but I wanted to have a better idea of what everything would look like in the space. I’ve been going back and forth about the paint color on the vertical shiplap and we will see in a few weeks what I’ve finally decided on! Hassaan doesn’t love the light fixture I chose so that might get switched around too.

Here’s what the office looks like right now in all its glory:

this is the room where chairs come to die
it’s literally giving me anxiety

I cannot wait to get started on this space and bring my vision to life. I will check in with you guys next week for another update on the One Room Challenge. See you all then!
