Decorating with Faux Fall Stems & My Favorite Faux Branches
It might be 100 degrees out here in Houston but my heart is ready for the best season: fall. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fall is the best time of year. The changing colors, pumpkin spice everything, and thicker bedding – I’ll take it all please! One of my favorite ways to bring a touch of fall into my home (especially if it’s not fall weather outside), is faux stems. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite faux fall stems for you to bring some fall decor into your homes.
The possibilities of incorporating fall decor into your homes are endless. Whether it’s faux florals on your dining table, a vignette on your console table, or some wall art in your living room, you can easily bring those autumnal vibes inside!
Let’s talk about Faux Fall Stems
One of the easiest ways to change up the look of your home is by bringing in some seasonal floral stems. I wish I lived somewhere with real fall season branches but let’s face it – the only traditional fall foliage we get in Houston is broken branches with the occasional dried out brown leaves. Our best friend in this situation is faux branches and trust me, I’m sharing ways you can make them look like the real thing! This season I’m seeing a lot of bright orange maple leaves trending as well as burgundy colored faux greenery. Unfortunately, high end pottery barn artificial plants that look hyper realistic cost an arm and a leg and I for one don’t want to spend a high price on seasonal décor.
Here are the best fall stems and branches that look amazing and don’t cost a fortune:
- Plum Purple Cimicifuga Ramosa Foliage
- Brightdeco Artificial Plant Leaves 3 Separate Stems
- 28” Faux Foliage Branch
- 2 Pack Artificial Maple Leaves
- Baby’s Breath Silk Artificial Flowers Beige Brown
- Baby’s Breath Artificial Flowers Bulk 3 Branches 10 Pcs Orange
- Artificial Fall Leaves 6 pcs
- 35″ Artificial Eucalyptus Stems Orange
- Baby’s Breath Artificial Flowers Burgundy
How to Style Faux Fall Stems
Anyone can throw some artificial flower stems into their favorite vase and call it a day, but details matter. The key to getting a realistic arrangement lies in how you maneuver each branch and fluff it up. With a few simple ways I’ll show you how to take fake flowers and and make them look like real convincing options.
- After taking out your faux branches from the packaging, open each stem up, uncurl the leaves, bend those tiny branches and open them up. Take your time doing this to get a fuller look when you put those fake plants to use.
- Here is my TOP tip that I recently started doing and wish I’d known about sooner. Steam those faux branches! Artificial stems often come squished and wrinkled in their packaging and without a steamer you won’t get that realistic look. Go over each flower stem with your steamer – this is a great way to get those wrinkles out
- Vary the heights of each stem when you put them in a vase for table displays! This creates a beautiful sculptural quality to the overall flower arrangement. Bend a few stems to make them shorter and then have some of them cascading out of the vase.
- For a dramatic look, try using extra tall faux branches 36” or longer and sparsely arrange them in a large vessel. It’s all about the negative space here!
- Try popping the faux plants in neutral color earthenware vases for an on trend look. Instead of bright green stems, go for rusts and deeper fall colors for the perfect accent
