Guest Bedroom Mood Board – ORC Week 2

We’re into Week 2 of the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge and today I get to share my mood board with you all! If you missed the first week, check it out here.

So remember how we wanted a beautiful but cozy guest bedroom with a deep saturated color on all walls, including the ceiling? Well, I think I have my key pieces narrowed down for the space! Without further ado, here is the vision I have for the room:

I’m not the best at making mock-ups but this is the best I could manage with Photoshop! I’m not one hundred percent certain about the color and this week I’ll explore a few different options to choose from. The real showstoppers here are the main furniture pieces from Apt2b, the gorgeous bed and the matte black fluted dresser. You know I love mixing styles and this chest of drawers is the perfect modern contrast to the more traditional elements in the room. Apt2b is a great online marketplace to find unique furniture with a modern aesthetic. They are generously providing the bed and chest of drawers for this makeover!

Next, let’s talk about the walls. I’m thinking all over moulding with beadboard on top and box frame paneling at the bottom half of the wall. One of my favorite parts of this mood board is the curtain fabric from Calico Corners. The beautiful block printed motif reminds me of Pakistani block printed textiles which I grew up seeing and loving! I am probably going to do traditional pinch pleat drapery to give that classy look.

There’s so much in this mood board to take in! Let me know what you guys think and we will dissect each part individually as the room starts taking shape! Until then, check out what the other Featured Designers are doing this week:

  1. Hi Fariha! Love this mood board, but also excited that you’re going with the pink. I’ve been drawn to that color too, and I’m not even a pink person! I’ve been looking all over for the rug pictured here. Can you please share the source? Ty
