Refreshing Cherry Lime Spritzer

Refreshing Cherry Lime Spritzer

Okay, I’m going to spell out the obvious, but I have to say it: this year went by way too fast! Wayyy too fast. I can’t believe we’re almost stepping into 2015! So much happened this year, it’s crazy.

  • Pennies for a Fortune was born! *yay*
  • I met Marzia from Little Spice Jar at a cooking class in our apartment club house! I honestly can’t thank God enough for all the wonderful people in our life 🙂
  • My family had our first reunion in Chicago and we had the loveliest time with planned and unplanned BBQs, a fun little awards ceremony, late night hangouts, and so much more. Isn’t family such a big blessing?
  • My brother and his wife had a beautiful baby girl and I became an aunt to not four, but five cuties this year!

Well now that we’re wrapping up 2014, let’s take baby steps into the next year. For starters, we can swap some yummy low-calorie drink recipes for the party you’re going to be hosting for New Years! {If you’re not hosting one, make it anyway! It’s super yummy}

This refreshing Cherry Lime Spritzer is a slightly sweet and tart drink, literally, with a cherry on top. You know what’s great about it? It’s non-alcoholic, the kids can have it too! And it’s low on the calorie count, with only two tablespoons of syrup! See? I told you you’d love it.

Cherry Lime Spritzer Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Club Soda (you can even use Sparkling water if you like) I used Fever-Tree
  • 2 tbsp Grenadine Syrup (add more if you like it more sweet) I used Rose’s
  • 1 tsp Sweetened Lime Syrup (I used Rose’s again)
  • Maraschino Cherry (for garnish) Please don’t use the stuff with red dye in it! It’s really not good for you 🙁 I used Tillen Farm’s

Method

To make your Cherry Lime Spritzer, use a chilled glass (place in freezer for about 15 mins), fill it up with ice and pour all of the club soda. Add the grenadine and the sweet lime syrups to your liking (I like mine towards the tart side so follow my instructions if you like that) Squirt a generous amount of fresh lime juice, top it off with a cherry or two, and enjoy with friends and family!

See how easy that was? Try out this refreshing kid friendly cherry lime drink and let me know what you think! And hey, if you like it, share it 🙂

Happy 2015, folks!
