One Room Challenge Week 5 – Fall 2019

HOME OFFICE MAKEOVER

Paint Spraying and Art ledge goes up

Hello hello! We are almost at the finish line and I feel so much better than I did last week. I’ve made good progress and I can finally see the end. This week I got my paint sprayer in the mail and it was such a life saver! I wouldn’t have been able to get all those thin shiplap gaps with a roller at all. I was gifted the Super Finish Max paint sprayer by Homeright TPS and I am sold! Painting the wall was a breeze and it took me a fraction of the time that using a roller would have taken.

Once the shiplap was painting, I sanded stained and sealed my art ledge and screwed it into the wall with some help from hubby. I’ll write another post for how to make the DIY art ledge with all relevant details! Next, we brought the Alex drawers into the office to provide a base for our desktop. They had been waiting patiently in our office for about two weeks waiting for the shiplap wall to be done.

That same night, we went into the garage and got the tabletop because of course we weren’t going to wait until morning to see our new office desk! It was a perfect fit! The boards sat flat on the drawers and all that was left to do was to attach the furring strip to the front and sides of the desk to give it a thicker butcher block look.

I can’t believe I’ll finally be sharing a final reveal in about a week!! I’m so so happy to have been part of this design challenge, it’s been an amazing experience so far. I’m going to go check in on other One Room Challenge participants and see how far they’ve come along. Head on over to ORC to join me!

See you next week with a full reveal of my home office makeover!
